Afternoon Mind-Body-Spirit Retreat with Yoga & Trapeze

There are many things that can hold us back in life. Fear is one of the most common things that can prevent us from grabbing onto the things that we want most. This afternoon retreat is designed to help guide participants through self- limiting feelings and work towards gaining the confidence needed to trust the heart and the body and experience the thrill of flying!
The afternoon retreat will take place in a peaceful sanctuary, minutes north of the city and will begin with grounding techniques, yoga and mindfulness before taking to the skies to try the Flying Trapeze with your new -found confidence. Not to worry, you will have your Retreat Coach as well as Flying Trapeze Coaches alongside you every step of the way!
This retreat is designed for anyone who is willing to try and step aside from the fears that may hold you back. Whether you have tried flying trapeze before or you are trying it for the first time, the instructors are dedicated to creating a safe and fun environment in which you are encouraged to step outside of your comfort zone.
Be prepared to surprise yourself as we move from Grounding to Flying in one afternoon. It is amazing what happens when you are willing to let go and reach ahead…. The Freedom to Fly!
Danielle Pomeroy is the owner of Four Rooms Wellness and a Yoga Teacher as well has been a practicing clinical social worker for the last 20 years, trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as other modalities. Danielle specializes in facilitating small groups and working with people through the stages of change to get from where they are in life, to where they want to be. Danielle fell in love with the Flying Trapeze in 2012 when it became a metaphor to change her life completely.
What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move and stretch in, not too baggy. Remove any jewelry and tie long hair back. Bring a full water bottle and a snack, as none will be available for purchase onsite.
Is it safe?
We will take a few minutes at the beginning of the flying trapeze session to walk you through the safety procedures. You will be wearing a safety harness and attached to safety lines at all times, in addition to a full safety net under the flying area. If you were to fall, the coach on the safety lines would stop you in the air and let you down slowly into the net.
What if I decide I don’t want to fly?
We want all participants to push themselves outside of their comfort zones, but are also very respectful of each person’s boundaries. If you decide you don’t want to fly you are welcome to use the time to practice yoga and meditation on the site. You are also welcome to just swing on the trapeze if you prefer not to learn a trick or a catch.
What is your cancellation policy?
The session is fully refundable before August 1 st . All sales will be final after August 1 st, 2018.
What if it rains?
If it is raining, we will reschedule the event to September 8 th , 2018.
Who can sign up?
Anyone is welcome to this event! Due to safety restrictions, we cannot allow participants who weigh over 225 lbs. Participants will be required to climb a 25ft ladder to reach the flying trapeze platform, so a basic level of fitness is also required.
Where is the retreat located?
The retreat will take place on a private property 45mins north of Toronto, near the town of Nobleton. Exact address and directions will be provided after booking.
Can I bring friends to watch?
Unfortunately as the retreat is located on a private property, only participants will be granted access.
